The Victorian Government acknowledges that the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and associated infection control measures have caused unprecedented challenges for the tourism industry, especially in regional communities.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) is currently undertaking an investigation into the collision of a passenger train with the level crossing gates at Lydiard St North, Ballarat, Victoria on 30 May 2020.

The Victorian Government appreciates the enormous impact that COVID-19 and associated public health restrictions have had, and will continue to have, on businesses, workers, landlords, tenants, and the wider community.
