Busy Ballarat Weekend

Ballarat was a hive of entertainment last weekend.

Ballarat was alive with music at the Royal South Street Society Eisteddfod, as well as revving engines at the Pedders Eureka Rush. I even had the opportunity to do a lap around BWEZ in a rally car thanks to Justin Hunt from CAMS Australian Rally Championship and Tim Shepherd.

The Ballarat International Foto Biennale had its opening weekend. The Liu Bolin’s “Camouflage” exhibition is now showing at Art Gallery of Ballarat and Badtjala artist Dr. Fiona Foley’s exhibition is at the Mining Exchange.

On Sunday, Mars Stadium held a crucial clash between Western Bulldogs vs Adelaide Crows, it was a sell-out crowd that saw the Dogs come home with a win.

These significant sporting and cultural events are so important to the Ballarat community, providing a substantial boost to the local economy and creating jobs. I thank Premier Dan Andrews, Treasurer Tim Pallas, Minister for the Arts Martin Foley and Minister for Sport and Tourism Martin Pakula for their commitment and support of big events in Ballarat.

And finally, Happy Birthday to my sister Christina Dickinson
