Thank You to Ballarat Aged Care Workers

The Andrews Labor Government is continuing to ensure the Ballaract community has access to high quality care in a suitable and safe environment in public sector aged care facilities.

Minister for Disability, Ageing and Carers Luke Donnellan and Member for Wendouree Juliana Addison this week visited Bill Crawford and Talbot Place aged care facilities to thank and acknowledge the dedicated, skilled and hardworking staff at Ballarat Health Services.

The last year was incredibly challenging for everyone in aged care, with workers playing a vital role in caring for and keeping safe some of our most vulnerable community members during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Labor Government is committed to supporting strong public sector residential aged care services right across the state.

Victoria maintains the largest public residential aged care sector in Australia and was the first state with legislated staff-to-resident ratios in high care public sector facilities.

Since December 2014 the Labor Government has invested more than $370 million for capital improvements for public aged care across the state.

Over the past three years, Talbot Place has received $655,000 in capital funding to upgrade its kitchens and laundry, IT systems and resident facilities – ensuring residents and staff have access to high quality facilities.
