A new-look Miners Rest Primary unveiled

Students in Miners Rest are closer to getting the upgraded and modern learning facilities they deserve, thanks to the Victorian Government.

Member for Western Victoria Jaala Pulford and Member for Wendouree Juliana Addison today turned the sod for Miners Rest Primary School’s $17.1 million upgrade.

The upgrade includes building 10 new classrooms, an arts room, music room and food tech facilities, new entrance and administration and staff facilities – giving students and staff modern learning environments to get the best out of learning.

Students will also be able to enjoy a new competition-grade gymnasium and football oval, which the broader community can use after-hours, landscaped open play areas and a kitchen veggie garden.

Tectura Architects developed the designs, which were informed and shaped by community feedback gathered through extensive consultation with the project being constructed by H Troon.

The Victorian Government has acquired land for Miners Rest Primary School in order to extend and upgrade the school. The works are expected to be completed in 2022.

The Victorian Government is building the Education State to ensure that every student can access a great local school and get a great education.

Since 2015, it has invested more than $7.2 billion to deliver more than 1,460 school upgrades and 100 news schools by 2026, while supporting more than 7,500 construction jobs for Victorians.
